Surface Drive
 |
Surface Drive and PC Pump (Progressive Cavity Pump), a new type of artificial lift system, mainly consists of a surface drive and downhole PC pump. Power is transmitted from wellhead to downhole when the surface drive suspends and rotates sucker rod, which in turn drives the downhole pump. As rotor turns eccentrically in the stator, a series of cavities form between the rotor and stator surfaces to move the fluid from the intake to the discharge end of the pump, providing a non-pulsating positive displacement flow from downhole to surface.
Advantages:
- Wide range of applications for well fluid;
- Suitable for high sand-cut wells;
- No gas lock;
- High pump efficiency;
- Uniform displacement;
- Applicable for wide range of displacement;
- Simple, compact and low-weighted surface drive calls for less investment;
- Provide a minimum of maintenance and low operation cost.
Applicable for: Viscous well, sand-cut well and wax-bearing well etc.
