Corporate Message
Global warming is a typical global phenomena, where the contributor of the emission does not automatically suffer from it himself. Cause and effect are separated both in time as well as with regard to geography. In the past, there was a more or less direct relation between the energy consumption (mainly fossil fuels) and the welfare of a country. This makes it very difficult to reach consensus between countries about the required steps to solve the problem. The Kyoto protocol shows that we must all do our part in taking both responsibility as well as steps to protect the environment going forward.
Our corporate mission is not an easy one. But our focus on being a solution provider is why we are in business. Today the world average carbon dioxide per person per year is 4 tons. That's 8,000 pounds by actual weight at sea level of toxic gas per human times six and a half BILLION humans on our planet. World-wide, 7,990 net new additions to our population are being added to the planet every hour of everyday. We see the opportunity to bring solutions to the table and do it now. Consider that the International Energy Institute (IEA) predicts a further increase of the world-wide CO2 emissions by 55% within the next 25 years if no immediate actions to stop global warming are put in place. However, even in their alternative scenario where vigorous new policy measures are introduced, IEA predicts a growth of the CO2 emissions by 28% compared to 2007! We feel we must act. As a corporation we have the opportunity, indeed, a mandate, to bring solutions to bear on this issue. In the medium and long term, a world-wide average emission of maximum 2 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person per year must be targeted. This amount is now considered to be the maximum allowed quantity for sustainable living on earth. Hitor Group, Inc. is a part of the answer.
